Amanda, good advice. I think many people are reluctant to discuss money for two reasons: 1) they see it as personal and private 2) they don't understand it very well, so they are embarrassed

I agree that to build wealth, you need to get over these issues. When I set up a partnership with a friend to buy a commercial real estate property, we had to put together financial snapshots of our lives and share them with the lender. It wasn't comfortable, but we've made hundreds of thousands of dollars from the venture.

Money should not be a taboo subject.
