Good overview. It is important to note that there is a significant economic difference between buying a house to live in and buying an investment property where someone pays you rent. The returns on investment properties are typically much higher than a home. Also, I prefer physical ownership of real estate because it is not liquid. My property values don’t fall in a bear market, and I don’t have to worry about the pressure of a stock ticket always in front of me. Liquidity is very much overrated in investing, in my opinion.
