Good read, U-Ming. Reminds me of the 4 years I worked in Thailand. On a work visa, I didn't have the immigration issues, but I know it is much harder to stay in Thailand without one. Which visa are you on, out of curiosity? For scams, that is everywhere in the world, it's just easier to avoid them where you are from because you understand what is going on. In the US it is easy to get a letter in the mail saying if you call a number, you will get $1 million. Phone calls come in daily with some stupidly fake offer. Scams are everywhere, but when you don't speak the language, know the rules, know the culture, etc. it is much easier to be a victim. Trust but verify!
