Great points, thanks for sharing. Most mainstream financial advice is either way off (your house in an asset) or insufficient to build meangingful wealth (just use low-cost index funds). That doesn't mean owning a home is bad or you shouldn't use low-cost index funds, but that is not the way to live a financially meangingful life. One great one is all the speculators saying "Be happy being poor," when you put all your money on whatever it is they think is a "sure thing." Investing is not gambling, and it is not a high-stakes, exciting process. Getting rich is fairly boring, but the results are not.
