Great read, U-Ming! Before coming to Medium, I read Russell Brunson's books, including Expert Secrets. His recommendation is that if you publish every day for 1 year, you'll never need to worry about money again. I haven't made 1 article per day, but I do try to follow his advice in general. It's easy to get discouraged when you publish those first few articles and get only a few cents, but if you stick with it and find what works, the results can compound quickly!
