I agree with Buffett that John Bogle has done more for individual investors than any else in the history of investing. Low-cost index funds are the best place for investors to start. It is ok to just stop there if you aren't interested in learning more, you will still do well. For those of us with more of an interest, moving into real estate and other investments can help diversify our portfolio and increas our returns, but it takes time, effort, and knowledge to make it work.
