I think a lot comes from a loss of purpose. Roles used to be clear, so men knew their purpose was to work and take care of a family. Now the world has changed and male culture has not caught up. When did taking care of a family become a bad thing? This lack of purpose leads to an empty wandering, focusing on escapisms like video games and porn. Parents indulge bad behavior and let them play video games 18 hours per day with no real human interaction. Girls have a toxic culture too, but it is more social whereas boys are increasingly becoming antisocial. You cannot succeed in life if you don’t know how to talk to or deal with other people, so you will stay home and troll the internet instead of being productive. It’s sad, but in the end it is up to us parents to do better. Parents have abdicated their responsibilities and parenting has been outsourced to schools, TV, social media, and video games. Should kids learn about sex from their parents or porn? Should kids study and learn at home with their parents or only at school? Should kids play sports and have friends or just play video games? Why do modern parents fear disciplining and teaching their children? The results speak for themselves - modern parenting is a failure in most ways.
