Jessica, I definitely agree with getting educated and not getting advice from others. But I do believe it is better to look for good deals than to buy glamor stocks or real estate. The price alone isn’t enough, but focusing on buying things at a good price is an amazingly reliable way to build wealth. Buying over-priced real estate and stocks is not nearly as reliable.
