Joachim, thanks for reading and for your comment. It would be a good study to see the failure rate of side-hustles vs. the failure rate of trying to be CEO. Both will be high, I'm sure!
I agree that everything we do has an opportunity cost that must be thought about. I work in a large, international company, and what I see is that many managers are not in great financial shape and have nothing going outside of their day job. Many are just as afraid to lose their employment as the bottom-level workers.
That is why I have (and encourage others to consider) doing something outside of your day job. It helps diversify your wealth and income and can give you more control over your life. Of course, you have to learn about it and get good at it or it won't help much.
