Olivia, thank you for sharing. Yes, land is tricky as it does not produce cash flow and is a 100% appreciation play. You have to keep enough liquidity to hold on through thick and thin so you aren't forced to sell in a pinch. Rental houses, apartments, etc will produce some cash flow to help while you wait for the appreciation. Stocks are liquid, but they can be more difficult to get right, in my humble opinion.
