Thanks for reading and leaving a comment. My focus is on the underlying stock, rather than the options. I use the options to get some premium and control my entry and exit points, but I only sell puts on stocks I am happy to own at prices I’m happy to pay based on fundamental analysis. So yes, in market drops I won’t really collect premium as I’m assigned stock, but I try to follow it down to keep lowering my average cost. I believe that being a value investor first that only uses options to control my acquisitions and get some premium, rather than an options trader that focuses first on the premium and not so much the underlying security, helps to reduce my risk.
