The Key To Financial Freedom
Wealth inspiration part 17.
Wisdom can often come in small packages, and wisdom about building wealth is no different.
Today’s quote is from Marlene Dietrich, the famous German actress:
“There is a gigantic difference between earning a great deal of money and being rich.”
This quote is important to me because it explains one fundamental truth about wealth that I didn’t learn from mainstream financial wisdom: your job and your salary won’t make you rich.
I used to focus on climbing the corporate ladder or looking for a job with a 10% pay raise. That wasn’t getting me anywhere.
It is financial education, investing, and accumulating assets that generate cash flow and appreciate that make people rich.
Your job can help provide you with funds to make investments, but the day you quit working, that income will stop.
Compare that to a rental property that makes money if I work or don’t work, if I’m awake or asleep, or if I’m nearby or far away.
The difference is critical. Assets make you rich, not a salary.
