Wisdom can often come in small packages, and wisdom about building wealth is no different.

Today’s quote is from Napoleon Hill, one of the original financial self-help gurus and author of “Think and Grow Rich”:

“The man who does more than he is paid for will soon be paid for more than he does.”

So many people seem to not understand how to get ahead in life.

At work, if you want to progress, you have to overdeliver. You have to exceed expectations in everything you do, even small, menial tasks.

If you wait tables, be the best waiter the restaurant has ever seen. You will be a manager soon.

If you clean offices, make sure you go the extra mile to make the office cleaner than anyone has ever seen before. This will not go unnoticed.

If you start a business, make sure you overdeliver value for your customers. They will return and bring their friends.

Everyone loves to receive something of value.

When an employee overdelivers on a task, the manager gets a good value surprise.

When a customer gets more than they expected, they will remember.
