The Power Of Investment Property

Wealth inspiration part 24.

Wisdom can often come in small packages, and wisdom about building wealth is no different.

Today’s quote is from John Stuart Mill, the English author and philosopher:

“Landlords grow rich in their sleep.”

It is a simple yet powerful explanation of why investment property is so powerful for building wealth.

Getting rich is not about working hard at your current job to try to get a raise or promotion. Your boss won’t make you rich.

Getting rich is about investing in assets that generate cash flow and appreciate, hopefully without significant direct effort on your part.

Now, nothing is 100% passive. It takes work to learn about real estate, build a team, find good deals, and manage it all.

But it is much less work than you put in at your day job, yet for a much greater potential reward.

Over the past decade or so, I have been able to build up a portfolio that includes seven single-family rentals and one commercial property (50/50 with a partner).

These properties all have positive cash flow that puts money in my pocket every month.
