To each their own, but I prefer to live a fuller life than $30k/year can get me (which is what many FIRE folks try to live off of so they can retire early). With better financial education, it's possible to build more wealth and generate passive income such that you can still retire early if you desire, but you can also live a comfortable life on much more than a pittance.
