Well said, Tony. Speculation is ok if done intelligently and the investor is informed. Venture capital is an example. But it is not investing. There is no predictable steady stream of cash flows. So as long as you know what you are doing and are prepared to lose your money, then you can speculate on gold, currency, crypto, Tesla or other unproductive assets.
