While I agree that the book is outdated in parts, what you recommend is not really value investing. Modern value investing looks like what Buffett and Munger do, which is buying wonderful companies and fair or better prices. They don’t use technical analysis or rely or institutional investors to make those decisions but instead use business fundamentals and the presence of durable competitive advantages to find and make investments. A great book on modern vale investing is the 2nd edition of “Value Investing: From Graham to Buffett and Beyond” by Bruce Greenwald. It explains when traditional Graham-style analysis works (as it often still does) and when you have to account for growth and how to do so intelligently and with a margin of safety. Good luck!
