While the ideas are not original or belong to Kiyosaki, they are quite different from mainstream financial advice. Mainstream advice teaches that your job, your house, and your 401k are the path to wealth, which is very different from what Kiyosaki teaches. Your house is a liability, but mainstream advice typically says it is your “largest investment”. This is what keeps middle-class Americans running on the treadmill instead of building wealth. I know because I used to follow mainstream advice and got tired of working hard and seeing little results. Once I started focusing on investing in actual assets like rental property, my wealth took off exponentially. I learned it from Kiyosaki, but he is not the only one. But you certainly won’t find it from Ramsey, Orzman, Sethi, etc.
